Blood Benefits

Series: The Blood Covenant

Moreover He sprinkled with blood both the Tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

And almost all things are by the Law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

How much more shall the Blood of Christ, who through the Eternal Spirit, offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the Living God?

Hebrews 9:21-22, 14

Through the Blood

It is considered common practice in the medical field, to take blood samples in order to determine the condition of your health. Physicians and medical professionals understand that if something is affecting your body it generally shows up in the blood. So tests are conducted to find out what is in the blood or not in the blood and to determine if nutrients in the blood are at proper levels. Your blood tells a story of what is going on in your body. Your blood will tell if your condition is getting better or worse. The answer is in the blood.

The spiritual blood count should also be considered if we are to determine the faith condition of the believer. We discover from this passage in Hebrews that nothing was used in ministry unless it was sprinkled with blood. If it entered ministry in the Tabernacle of the Old Testament, it had to come through the blood of animal sacrifice. Otherwise it would not have counted. The blood of sacrifice was a sign of a Covenant with God. Moreover He sprinkled with blood both the Tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. Hebrews 9:21. Moses could not and would not use any vessel, any garment, or any instrument for worship unless it had been sprinkled with blood. This was a sign for Moses and the Aaronic Priesthood that their ministry would be acceptable to God Almighty.

Every believer must understand that the only basis for their relationship with God is the Blood Covenant through our Lord Jesus. We cannot and will not find acceptance with God through any other means. The writer of Hebrews celebrates the exceeding excellence of Jesus Christ throughout the Epistle. The Excellence of Jesus Christ is demonstrated in His message. The message of Jesus was better than the message of all the prophets. Not only was Jesus better than the message of the prophets, He was better than the Angels. Jesus was more glorious than the Angels that stood in God’s presence. Jesus was better than the Old Testament Priesthood. God ordained that Jesus would be of an Eternal Priesthood after the Order of Melchisedec. Hebrews 7:11-12. To add to that, not only was Jesus given a better Priesthood, He would offer His Sacrifice at the Eternal Holy Place in Heaven and not the Earth. Now, with that being the case, Jesus would present a better offering than the sacrifices of the Old Testament. Finding nothing better, He offered His own Blood to satisfy God once and for all times. It is Jesus that sanctifies us through His Own Blood. Praise be to God.

Significance of the Blood

Now that we are His New Testament Church, we have entered through the Everlasting Way; we have come to God through the Blood. For that reason, we have entered an Eternal Ministry through the Blood. Now, everything that has to do with ministry must be covered by the blood.

The miracle of ministry is that now as we share the Gospel Message, we are assisting people to gain access to God through the Blood. Each time we share or witness to people about Jesus Christ, we are offering them the Blood of Jesus Christ. We give to people the best that Heaven has to offer; we offer access to the Living God through the Blood of Jesus. Hebrews 9:20, this is the Blood of the Testament, which God has enjoined unto you. The New Living Translation states, this is the Blood that seals and ratifies the Agreement, (the Testament, the Covenant) which God commanded [me to deliver to] you. In the absence of a covenant, God has no legal grounds to adopt us into His Family. Satan, the adversary of our soul, would accuse us before God; he would argue that we have no legal right to be Children of the Living God. But since the Covenant was sealed with the Blood of Jesus Christ, we are now and forever shall be Children of the Most High God. Those are Blood Benefits.

When we think about natural blood, we know that our bodies would not survive without the red gold coursing its way through our veins. The same is true for our spiritual bodies. We would not be alive for God’s service without the Blood of Jesus Christ setting us apart for ministry. Please, do not discount this. As the body is dead without its blood, the Church is dead without the Blood of Jesus. It is interesting that God commanded Moses to sprinkle everything with the blood before it could be used in ministry. On the one hand you have the demonstration that something had died in order for a covenant to be ratified, but on the other hand, the blood represented ‘life giving power.’ The blood of sprinkling was to release a spiritual energy that prepared the vessels for ministry. Every vessel for ministry was covered by the blood. Verse 21 states, Moreover He sprinkled with blood both the Tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. People wonder why Churches are dying. They give reasons such as, only old people attend there; but that is not the reason. They say that the Church does not believe in praising God; but that is not the reason. Things die because something has happened to the blood. For that reason, it is not good to go to dead Churches because you would only feed on dead things that would contaminate you. If it is dead, it ceased to rely on the Blood. Jesus said it this way, except you eat the Flesh of the Son of Man and drink of His Blood, you have no life in you. John 6:53. Clearly, many Churches have stopped eating and drinking of Christ, and they have died.

Power in the Blood

The Blood of Christ makes us alive unto God and it makes us accepted before God. Without the Blood, we have no claims to either. The Blood of Christ covers everything from here to eternity. For that reason, we must understand some of the tremendous benefits of the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Number 1, the Blood establishes the New Covenant. Luke 22:20, This cup is the New Testament in MY BLOOD, which is shed for you. We are not under the Old Covenant with Israel. We are under the New Covenant through Jesus Christ and His shed blood. The Blood speaks to God whenever we enter His presence. We must be covered with the Blood, otherwise we are not accepted before God. It is our eternal life, eternal access, and eternal blessing contract with God. Again, the Contract was written with Blood, signed with the Blood, sealed through the Blood, and covered with the Blood. God sees us through the Blood.

Number 2, the Blood gives eternal life. John 6:56, He that eats My Flesh, and drinks My Blood, dwells in Me, and I in Him. John 6:53, except you eat the Flesh of the Son of Man and drink of His Blood, you have no life in you. People can not have the life of God with the Blood of Jesus Christ. It must be spiritually internalized. In the same way that we accept blood transfusions in order to stay alive, we must accept the Blood Transfusion of God’s Son.

Number 3, our redemption was purchased by the Blood. Colossians 1:14, 1 Peter 1:18-19, and Ephesians 1:7 all testify that our Redemption was purchased by the Blood of Jesus Christ. In Whom we have Redemption through His Blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14. For as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things … but with the precious Blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 1 Peter 1:18-19. In Whom we have Redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His Grace. Ephesians 1:7. My sin debt was paid in full so that I can come before God without owing Him anything except my praise and that is not a debt; that is my gratitude.

Number 4, we overcome Satan through the Blood. The debt not only satisfies God and pays all my penalties before God; the Blood is my protection from the power of Satan. Revelation 12:11, and they overcame him (the devil) by the Blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. If we can only remember that our greatest weapon against Satan is the Blood of Jesus, we would spend less time trying to pray the devil away and attempting to make him go away with our feeble arguments. We instead, should spend our time telling others about the wonderful Works of Christ. Just remind the Devil that you are covered by the Blood of Jesus Christ – that will defeat him every time.

Number 5, the Blood cleanses from all sin. 1 John 1:7, But if we walk in the Light as He is in the Light, we have fellowship one with another, and the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If you are struggling with sin, then please remember this verse. It is our guaranteed remedy from the clutches and cravings of sin. Apply the Blood daily over the infected area of your heart and life and through the Blood you will have victory. The Blood Works.

Number 6, peace with God was obtained through The Blood. Colossians 1:20, and having made peace through the Blood of His Cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in Heaven. We will never have to worry about Angels wondering how we made it to Heaven. We will never be looked upon as unwelcomed before God, because the Blood of Jesus Christ has given us peace with God. That peace is so full and rich that it has also given us peace from God and now we have the peace of God. Thank God, the Blood Works.

Number 7, the Blood justifies us before God. Romans 5:9, much more then, being justified by His Blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Thank God the Blood works. There was an indictment in God’s Court. My sin had rendered me a renegade before God, a vile person to God, and a fugitive from God; I was ever banished never to see the light of day. Thank God for the Blood. Before Justice claimed me, Mercy found me. When nothing else could help, Mercy covered me with the Blood of Jesus Christ. I confessed my sin and became a new born, Blood bought, Holy Ghost filled child of Almighty God. The last report from Glory is that all charges have been dropped from here to eternity. As a matter of fact instead of rejection, I now have an adoption notice from God that says “Welcome to the Family.” That is nothing but the Power of the Blood of Jesus.”

Thank God, the Blood Works. Now we must allow the Blood to work in our lives. Notice the verse reads, How much more shall the Blood of Christ, who through the Eternal Spirit, offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the Living God. Hebrews 9:14. what you have in your blood will be demonstrated by the way you live. If the Power of Jesus is in your blood, you will be a witness. If the Love of Jesus is in your blood, you will love others. If ministry to others is in your blood, you will minister or serve them in Jesus name. The Blood of Jesus has come into our lives that we may serve the Living God. Dead works are the result of blood problems. The Blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us and also empowers us to serve God.

There is power, power, wonder working power – in the precious Blood of the Lamb.
